Chevron Lace

Lot's of Crocheting and Knitting work is happening chez Angelarae of late and I wanted to share some of it with you. Since I shared my progress with the Chevron Lace Cardigan, here's a pic of the completed sweater and....

Here are the project specs:

Pattern: Chevron Lace Cardigan by Milobo
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft Paints: Sticks and Stones
Hook: Size I-9
Button: Wood from (Wal Mart-Love it!)

The color in this picture isn't accurate. The tutorial pics below are much better!

I Love this cardigan!  It is the first thing I have made for myself in a long time. I have gotten a lot of complements on it, too. I followed the pattern for the largest size, but went down a hook size in order to get a size between the two largest. Also, I went with one large button instead of many.  I made my own little button loop. Here's what I did:

Pretend this is the button band of your cardigan, all in single crochet, row 3. When you get to the top of the right side near the neck, sc in the last sc, ch 6, and turn. ( for a smaller button, chain less. Use your judgement based on button size)

Skip 3 sc's and slip stitch into the 4th. Ch1, turn.

8 Sc around the chain just made.

Slip stitch into last stitch of button band. Done!

Looks great and will last for many years!
