Happy New Year, Raleigh Style

Tonight, beginning at 7:00 p.m., Raleigh begins one of the Triangles biggest public celebrations of the year. Dancers, musicians, magicians and New Year's Eve revelers gather on Fayetteville St., in downtown Raleigh to ring in the New Year. With a kids countdown, a people's procession, performances by the N.C. Symphony Orchestra, and gatherings at both indoor and outdoor venues, this family friendly celebration hasn't suffered from the lack of alcohol since it started in 1997. Raleigh drops its giant copper acorn , pictured below at Moore's Square Park, after countdown ends at the beginning of the New Year, complete with fireworks. So come on down and party with us in our real big small town! We'd love to have you! :)

DH and I went to see "The Queen" at the Colony and were on our way downtown for our First!!! But then it started to rain. So we went home and fell asleep. Oh, we have become our parents!!!!!
