Summer Flies

Summer certainly does fly by....very quickly! I have had an eventful one, too.  I have a design accepted for publication here and am teaching crochet at my lys, here.  Things certainly seem to be falling into place for me.  I thank God for that and all of my wonderful cyber friends and personal friends who are a constant encouragement to me, and DTK shop owner, Michele, for taking a chance on me.  DTK is a fantastic shop. She has some wonderful yarns and rovings and the shop is crochet friendly, so if you live nearby, definitely check it out. Friday night is SNB night and we have a blast!

Today, I am blocking said magazine project.  I cannot tell you what it is, or even when it will be published.  I can share all of that when the magazine comes out.  Not my rules, sorry.   And I also have a few other projects I am committed to complete. One is a hat and cocoon set for one of my close friends who is expecting a little one very soon.  I'll get on that after I ship Mag project at the end of this week.  I am also working on a couple more designs: a crochet cardigan (top down), a crocheted shawl (love), and a knitted cardigan that is going to prove to be a bear of a project (as my knitting designs often are). The difficult part will be schematics and sizing.  I've never made a garment in several sizes.  I don't know all the tricks. There is no shaping in this project (yet) which could make it a little easier, but it will require a whole lot of work. Wish me luck:0)


My garden is doing very well. We have cantalopes, watermelon, cucumbers, tomatoes, and lots and lots of Basil and Cilantro, even a few jalapenos.  My favorite, though, is this guy. Mr. Bee seems to like him, too!

I love sunflowers, and they are surprisingly easy to grow, and hearty. I grew this one from seed. They also attract goldfinches, who love the seeds in the center of the flower. You know how much I love birds!
